OBJECTIVE

 

Technical Capacity involving engineering and installation of Digital Switching Systems, Digital Transmission, and Translations for Local, Tandem, Interexchange, Operator, and Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) Services.  Cable Telephony Implementation of great interest.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

GCI Communication Corp, Anchorage, Alaska,  1993-Present

            Senior Engineer, Switched Network.  Responsibilities include:

            -Cable Telephony research, including circuit switched, and VoIP.

            -Familiarity with VoIP protocol including DOCSIS, PacketCable, and the GR-303

                        DLC/Switch interface specification.

            -Design, testing, and implementation of 5ESS and DSC DEX translations for

                        -Local, Toll, Long Distance, and Operator Services

                        -LRN Local Number Portability (LNP)

                        -Trunk and Line assignments, signaling protocols

                        -SS7 and Advanced Intelligent Network Services

                        -Digit Analysis, Routing, Charging (AMA, CDR)

                        -BRCS, LASS, ASP, LDP

            -SS7 Network Element translations to support the switched network including:

                        -Tekelec Eagle STP

                        -DSC DEX STP

                        -DSC DEX and IEX SCP

-Coordination and implementation of software retrofits for digital switching systems,

 including test plans to assure post retrofit network functionality.

-Network Operations Support including troubleshooting of inband (MF FGB, FGC, FGB,  

 and FGA) and SS7 signaling problems.

-MIS and billing system support through Call Detail Record and AMA from network    

 elements, coordination of these records with network products to allow correct billing.
